TommyInnit Presenting ‘100 Questions’ YouTube Series With Stephen Fry

TommyInnit, who runs the most popular Minecraft channel on Twitch, is leading the first series and channel to emerge from Sony’s new international digital arm with guests including Stephen Fry.

100 Questions with Tom Simons will feature the Minecraft supremo under his real name alongside interviewees as he is given exactly 100 questions to get to know his guests. Once he runs out of the 100, they are gone.

Launching next week, TommyInnit’s first tranche of guests include British thespian Fry, who recently competed on Celebrity Traitors alongside creator Niko Omilana, Professor Brian Cox and creators like Stampy, James Marriott and Sweet Anita.

Sony said 100 Questions is “designed as a repeatable, creator-led series built for digital audiences.” It will also have a dedicated YouTube channel where full eps will be posted. Clips may be posted to other channels including TommyInnit’s personal platforms.

It comes from Sony Pictures Television International Production’s nascent digital arm, which is led by ex-BBC Studios executive Matt Ford and former Channel 4 digital boss Sacha Khari.

TommyInnit is one of the world’s most popular streamers. He has more than 50 million followers across platforms and surpassed 1 billion YouTube views at just 17. He holds the Guinness World Record for most-followed Minecraft channel on Twitch and has sold out live events.

TommyInnit said: “I started out making videos in my room, and over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to build a career outside of that, writing books, touring and now my own chat show! This feels like a chance to push myself even further out of my comfort zone, having conversations you wouldn’t expect. From asking Stephen Fry about his least favourite word to chatting with Brian Cox about the meaning of life, it’s been an unreal experience so far.”

Ford added: “Launching our first digital studio channel with Tom is a big moment for us. He’s one of the most distinctive creators in the market, with a deep understanding of how to connect with large, engaged audiences. This is just the beginning- we’re building a focused slate of original concepts with a select group of creators and leading talent, and see a significant opportunity to develop ideas like this at scale.”

TommyInnit is repped by MonRae Management.

Earlier this year, Deadline explored how content creators are helping shape the British TV industry behind and infront of the camera.
