Big Boi Among Executive Producers On Atlanta 1996 Olympics Documentary ‘We Ran The City’

EXCLUSIVE: Big Boi of the legendary rap duo Outkast is among the executive producers attached to We Ran The City, a feature documentary on the 1996 Atlanta Olympics

The film’s synopsis reads: “Atlanta 1996: We Ran The City delves into Atlanta’s dynamic and often tumultuous transformation during the years leading up to the 1996 Olympics. Through the eyes of a diverse cast, including hard-nosed law enforcement officers, controversial politicians, influential entrepreneurs, and notorious criminals, the documentary paints a vivid portrait of a city grappling with growth, crime, and political intrigue.

“From the relentless drive of Roderick Anderson, known as “The Terminator,” to the undercover exploits of Glen Cummings, and the high-stakes political landscape navigated by Mayors Bill Campbell and Kaseem Reed, each story reveals a unique facet of Atlanta’s rise. The narrative is enriched by the insights of Dr. Maurice Hobson, who provides a historical and social context to the city’s evolution.”

Jami McCoy is directing the film. She is also an executive producer alongside Big Boi and Robert Slocum. Shauna D. Balfour is the casting producer. The creative team behind the doc is also developing a limited fictional series titled 96 on the same subject matter.
