Apple TV has unveiled a first look at Season 5 of its longest-running sitcom Trying, as Celia Imrie joins the cast.

Season 5 of the warm family drama finds Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) dealing with the consequences of Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler’s (Cooper Turner) biological mother Kat (Charlotte Riley) turning up at their doorstep, and the whirlwind of chaos she brings into their settled family life.
Imrie, fresh from a star turn on Celebrity Traitors UK, The Paper star Gbemisola Ikumelo and Colin Morgan (Belfast) have boarded the new season, joining an ensemble with Darren Boyd (Down Cemetery Road), Siân Brooke (Blue Lights) and Phil Davis (Vera Drake).

Trying is one of Apple TV’s longest-running shows and was recently acquired by the BBC in a first-of-its-kind deal.
Andy Wolton is creator, writer and EP alongside Smith, Spall, Chris Sussman, Josh Cole and Sam Pinnell. The series is produced by BBC Studios.
