The series focuses on preparation for the third stage in the program – Artemis III – under which two astronauts will walk on the moon for the first time in more than 50 years. At the same time, it gives insight into Artemis II, which is due to launch on Wednesday, and will see four astronauts circle the moon over the course of 10-days.
The series combines interviews with real-life astronauts and scientists based at the Kennedy Space Center and European research sites involved in the program with the story of a fictional character called Amanda, as well as CGI and live-action footage.
“Destination Moon offers a front-row seat to Artemis III, with exclusive interviews of astronauts and engineers, spectacular cinematic CGI, and real- world stakes that keep you on the edge of your seat. A premium global event mini-series that brings the Moon closer than ever,” said ZED Head of Distribution and Acquisitions Charlotte Tachet.
