EXCLUSIVE: Tubi has picked up the first season of Why Are You Single?, a dating game show hosted by comedian Marie Faustin, which she co-created and exec produces alongside Dave Mizzoni, with All Things Comedy as studio partner.
In each episode of the show, streaming for free on Tubi later this year, Faustin introduces a hero single dater while seeking to answer the rhetorical question, “why are you single?“. Joining our single are four potential suitors, who each unveil their dating history, as well. As the contestants’ dating past unravels, Faustin and the live audience hand out red flags that force our dater to decide which contestant is worth the baggage.
“I can’t wait for the world to see what we’ve created in Brooklyn, with Why Are You Single?…because everyone deserves love but more importantly, they deserve to laugh,” Faustin told us.
Faustin and Mizzoni have been performing and developing the format for Why Are You Single? on stage since 2023. The first three episodes will be filmed live at The Bell House in Brooklyn on May 21st and 22nd. All Things Comedy produces the series, with Cassie Lambert Scalettar set as showrunner, EP and director for the first season. ATC’s Co-CEOs Billy Rosenberg and Drew Eller are exec producing on behalf of the company, along with Head of Finance and Production Drew Agan, with ATC’s Chance Nichols and Lauren Midler overseeing for the studio.
Why Are You Single? marks All Things Comedy’s second unscripted series, produced and co-created with comedians, that we’ve announced recently, following the recent filming of The Bad Game Show with the Bad Friends podcast’s Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino.
ATC’s Eller said, “What Marie and Dave have created is reminiscent of the cable comedy we grew up on, with the added benefit of capturing the humor of a truly unscripted show and a live audience experience. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this to audiences with our partners at Tubi, and to help expand the reach of Why Are You Single?!”
