Tubi Taps Ex-TikTok Exec Gave Lindo As Canada Boss

EXCLUSIVE: Gave Lindo has been appointed Tubi’s first General Manager for Canada. The former TikTok and CBC exec has joined the free streamer and will work out of its newly-opened Toronto office.

Lindo brings considerable digital experience to Fox-owned Tubi. He was Executive Director of OTT Programming at pubcaster CBC, where he oversaw digital platforms including CBC.ca and CBC Kids and led the launch of the CBC Gem streaming service. He also developed original content and commissioning strategy for the digital platforms.

Most recently, he was Head of Content Programming for North America at TikTok, leading content strategy, in-app editorial, original live production and cross-platform initiatives.

“I’m thrilled to join Tubi and build on the strong foundation the team has created,” said Lindo, who takes the title of Vice President and General Manager of Canada. “The business has delivered impressive results, and I look forward to helping drive continued success and further expanding Tubi’s presence in the Canadian market.”

Lindo will report to David Salmon, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, International, at Tubi. “We’ve been encouraged by Tubi’s strong momentum, with Canadian viewers watching more than 100 million hours in Q1 2026,” he said. “Following the opening of Tubi’s newest office in Toronto last month, we’re pleased to welcome Gave as we continue to expand our presence in this growing market.

“His leadership experience across digital and streaming platforms, including TikTok and CBC, uniquely positions him to help drive Tubi’s next phase of growth in Canada.”

Tubi has reported 30% year-on-year growth in monthly active users in Canada since 2020. It opened a 10,000 sq. ft. office in Toronto last month. In Canada, the Tubi lineup comprises 220,000 movies and TV episodes.

On the commercial side, the ad-supported service has partnered with Bell Media, which owns broadcaster CTV, the Crave streaming service and numerous cable nets. Bell Media now exclusively handles Canadian ad sales for Tubi, which said its audience now includes one in three Canadians over 18-years-old.
