Tori Kelly’s New Album ‘God Must Really Love Me’ Release Date Announced

Tori Kelly's New Album 'God Must Really Love Me' Release Date Announced

Tori Kelly was made for music, and luckily for her fans, she’s ready to drop some more.

The musician announced her sixth studio album, God Must Really Love Me, on Tuesday (May 5) via an Instagram post. Sharing the album artwork, Kelly let fans know that the upcoming LP is due to drop on June 12.

To get fans excited for the album, Kelly also announced that she will release not one but two new singles from the LP, “Control” and “Dive,” on Friday (May 8).

God Must Really Love Me is the followup to Kelly’s 2024 self-titled album, Tori. A press release describes the new project as Kelly’s “most intimate work yet.” The album will explore love, identity and “the quiet work of protecting your peace amid the constant noise of the outside world.”

The new album announcement comes about six months after the birth of Kelly’s first child with husband André Murillo. The press release shared that Kelly was “gripped by a rush of inspiration” not long after giving birth, and that this inspiration “reshaped her creative instincts.”

“Before the baby was born I’d tried to work on as many songs as possible, because I thought maybe I wouldn’t want to write once I was in mom mode,” Kelly said in a statement“But then everything just hit me at once and right away I knew what I needed to say and exactly how I wanted it to sound.”

Kelly wrote most of the album’s tracks alone before hitting the studio to collaborate with producers and cowriters DIXSON (Kehlani, Vic Mensa), Nija Charles (Summer Walker, Kiana Ledé), Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan) and Ammo (Beyoncé, Teddy Swims). Kelly’s main collaborators on the album are Tommy King (HAIM, Donna Missal) and Dan Farber (Lizzo, Alessia Cara).
