Tiger Woods’ scary DUI misadventure has reportedly sparked a clash with Vanessa Trump.
Over the weekend, the professional golfer was involved in a rollover crash in Florida, which resulted in his arrest for a DUI. Cops have said he passed a breathalyzer test, but refused a urinalysis exam to test for other substances in his system, so he was slapped with the DUI charge. We’ve since learned two hydrocodone pills were discovered in Tiger’s pocket at the time of his arrest.
Thankfully, he was not injured in the scary accident — but his girlfriend may feel his luck is running out.
On Tuesday, an insider told DailyMail.com that the pair got into a weekend-long argument following his release from jail:
“[Vanessa] has gone from concern to anger. She was like ‘let’s solve this together’ and his response was basically ‘yeah yeah yeah, I got it. It’s fine. It’s under control.’ And she’s like ‘it is so obviously not under control.’”
According to the insider, Vanessa’s anger stems from her fear of being in a vehicle driven by Tiger, as he’s now had four major traffic incidents. He infamously struck a fire hydrant in 2009, fell asleep at the wheel in 2017, and suffered another rollover crash in California in 2021, which resulted in a serious leg injury. And now this latest rollover crash!

The insider noted Tiger wishes to carry on his relationship with Vanessa, but to do so, he’ll have to make some changes:
“She is annoyed because he drives her and her kids around sometimes. She just thinks about all the times that she doesn’t know whether he was good to drive. She’s a protective mom. And this is not just irresponsible, it’s dangerous. She needs some reassurance that this is not happening again.”
Ugh.
The insider added:
“Tiger’s response is ‘don’t worry, I’m fine.’ So I don’t want to say that they’re on the rocks, but she is not going to put up with this. She needs stability and this is not stable. If he can’t fix this, she will 100 percent walk. She’s trying to make that clear without it sounding like an ultimatum, but obviously it kind of is.”
Over the weekend, People reported members of Tiger’s inner circle are concerned for his well-being as strain seemingly sets in on his relationship with Vanessa:
“They are an intense couple. It’s serious, but Tiger has yet to look in the mirror and say, ‘You’re 50 years old and need to act like it.’”
On Tuesday, a second source assured DM this latest crash will spark change for Tiger:
“When he got out of custody, he was very apologetic. He really says he wants to do something about this, and it’s a wake-up call for him. But with Tiger, he has to figure out what’s best for himself. He has to decide how he is going to fix this, and what his plans are.”
The source continued:
“Nobody else can tell him what to do. There are a lot of people in his life who want to make sure he’s okay. He will listen to our advice but he will make the ultimate decision of what he needs to do. So I would say that we need to be a little bit patient with him. He will figure it out. He’s faced worse.”
On Monday, a report indicated Tiger does NOT want to hire a personal driver over fears his privacy will be compromised as he “doesn’t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing.” But the DM source has a compromise:
“He can afford to get a driver who only drives him when he feels like he needs it. Someone who is always on call but he doesn’t have to use the driver if he doesn’t want. That’s what I’m suggesting to him because he’s never going to stop driving altogether. I have faith that he will figure it out.’”
We just hope that for the health and safety of EVERYONE involved, Tiger strives for change.
So far though? It’s hard to know what’ll happen next considering he’s entered a not guilty plea.
