‘The Morning Show’ Season 5 Adds Jeff Wilbusch & Sydney Park As Recurring

EXCLUSIVE: The Morning Show has added Sydney Park (Scary Movie, Moxie) and Jeff Wilbusch (Something Very Bad is Going to Happen, Unorthodox) in recurring roles for the upcoming fifth season.

Park will play Leah, Cory Ellison’s new assistant. Wilbusch will recur as Roman, Head of Protective Services for the UBN News Division.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon continue to lead the star-studded cast that also includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Emmy winner Jon Hamm. Previously announced Season 5 additions include Jeff Daniels, Jesse Williams, Renee Rapp and Sean Hayes.

The Morning Show jumped ahead nearly two years to spring 2024 for the fourth season, following the main characters after the UBA-NBN merger as the newsroom grappled with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America. Among the issues they faced were deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups that made the world around them increasingly difficult to understand.

Season 4 also featured new guest stars Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.

The Morning Show is showrun and executive produced by Charlotte Stoudt, and directed and executive produced by Mimi Leder. The series is produced by Media Res, and executive produced by Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer through Media Res, along with Stoudt and Leder.

Witherspoon executive produces alongside Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, while Aniston and Kristin Hahn executive produce through Echo Films. Zander Lehmann and Micah Schraft also executive produce.

Wilbusch recently starred in in Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen opposite Camila Morrone, Adam DiMarco and Jennifer Jason Leigh. He previously played the lead role of Avraham in Peacock’s crime drama The Calling, from creator David E. Kelley and director Barry Levinson. In 2022, he starred in the Netflix limited series Keep Breathing and appeared in the Emmy-nominated HBO film Oslo, directed by Bartlett Sher. Additional credits include The Little Drummer Girl (BBC/AMC) alongside Michael Shannon, Alexander Skarsgård and Florence Pugh, and the Hulu miniseries Bad Banks.

Parks will soon be seen starring in Scary Movie 6 with Regina Hall, Anna Farris and Marlon Wayans. She previously wrapped a lead role in the upcoming horror-comedy feature Halloween Store with Simon Rex, Grace Van Dien and Justin Long. Other credits include There’s Someone Inside Your House, First Love and Moxie. Park got her start at 6 years old doing stand-up comedy at the Hollywood Improv. She got her big break after competing on America’s Got Talent at 8 years old. On the small screen, she’s appeared in shows like That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana, Entourage, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, The Walking Dead and Santa Clarita Diet.
