‘The Fall And Rise Of Reggie Dinkins’ Renewed For Season 2 At NBC

Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, and the gang from NBC‘s The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins will be back with more hilarity as the freshman comedy has been renewed for a second season. Sources say the order is for 10 episodes.

The sports mokumentary premiered on January 18 with more than 14 million viewers tuning in. It became the No.1 comedy telecast of the season across all broadcast networks, according to NBC. The network touts Reggie Dinkins as the No.1 new comedy of the 2025-26 season in the 18-49 demo.

In The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Morgan stars as the titular former football star, who is on a mission to rehabilitate his image with the help of award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin (Radcliffe). In order to earn back the admiration of his fans and the respect of his family, Reggie will also have to confront the ghosts of his past.

Alexander portrays Monica, Reggie’s ex-wife and the mother of their teenage son, Carmelo (Jalyn Hall), whom they co-parent. Although Reggie and Monica are divorced, the former couple are close and very much a part of each other’s lives.

Reggie is in a serious relationship with Brina (Precious Way), a young influencer who not only makes buckets of money but is also happy to share. In a standout episode from Season 1, Brina takes Monica out for a luxurious spa day, all expenses paid. Monica can’t help but mentally tally up how much they’ve spent, while convinced that her ex is bankrolling everything. As it turns out, Brina has trillions of followers and makes her own dough, news that left Monica in shock. Maybe Brina really loves Reggie and isn’t with him for his money, as many might assume?

The relationship between the two women in Reggie’s life is refreshing, showing that two strong women don’t have to be catty to make a show funny.

Best known for playing Maxine Shaw in the 90s comedy Living Single, Alexander’s big return to TV comedy has been a long time coming and was worth the wait.

Speaking of relationships, the awkward “getting to know you” moments between Reggie and Radcliffe’s character, Arthur, are at the heart of the series. Both Morgan and Radcliffe bring to the table their own flavor of comedic styling that, together, make for a hit comedy series. Morgan is more brash and in your face, as always, while Radcliffe leans into the British comedy sensitivities that made his episode of Extras one of the best of the series.

The cast also features Bobby Moynihan, who plays Reggie’s best friend Rusty, who is always around and up to some chaos.

Robert Carlock and Sam Means serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Eric Gurian, and David Miner also executive produce. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, Little Stranger, Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment, Bevel Gears, Means End Productions and Streetlife Productions, Inc.
