EXCLUSIVE: Ted is bringing the laughs on Peacock with Season 2.
The second season has generated 1.2B minutes viewed since its March launch, making it the top original comedy title among all the streamers in that timeframe, per Nielsen data.
Ted continues to perform particularly well among young men, ranking as the No. 1 streaming original comedy among men 18-34 and the most-watched scripted Peacock original series with men 18-34 since 2022, Nielsen indicates.
The Ted series is set in the ’90s when Ted the bear’s (MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, MA, with his best friend, 17-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham).
Season 2 is set in 1994, with senior year of high school underway for Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear and the likable but awkward John. Matty is a blustering, blue-collar Bostonian who sees himself as the unequivocal boss of the house and frequently clashes with his liberal niece Blaire, an outspoken college student who often finds herself at odds with her more traditional-minded relatives.
MacFarlane serves as writer, director, co-showrunner along with executive producers, writers and co-showrunners Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh. Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, Aimee Carlson (Fuzzy Door) also executive produce. Ted is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, and MRC.
