Tan France looks totally unrecognizable after switching up his signature hair color.

Known for his silver ‘do, the “Queer Eye” star, 43, showed off a shockingly deep brown tone that stands in stark contrast to his norm.

“Don’t freak out, I know my hair is dark,” the TV personality shared in a selfie video on Instagram to explain the drastic makeover to fans.

“It’s very weird to see me with dark hair,” he acknowledged, adding, “It’s weird to see myself with dark hair.”

France continued, “I just need to make it clear: this is not a midlife crisis.”

The Netflix star said that the switch is “for a role” and emphasized, “I HATE dark hair on me. I LOVE my silver hair. I need you to know, I LOVE my grays. I’m not ashamed of them whatsoever, I’m really proud of them.”

“This is just for work and we’re gonna go right back, hopefully, to my natural color within a month or two,” he promised.

The comments section exploded with shock and support, with one fan writing, “You look beautiful as always.”

Another joked, “I didn’t want to say it – but I THOUGHT it ! And my soul screamed NOOO!”

This isn’t the first time he has addressed his hair; Last year, he switched it up after reading fan comments.

Though he had longer locks on an earlier season of “Queer Eye,” he cut a shorter style after he saw “so many people” who “hate” his hair.
