‘The Sun Never Sets’, Starring Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson & Cory Michael Smith, Heads To Cannes Market

EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of the Cannes market Capture Entertainment has acquired international sales rights to romance drama The Sun Never Sets, which recently premiered at SXSW.

Written and directed by Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies) the film stars Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson and Cory Michael Smith, alongside Debby Ryan, Anna Konkle, Lamorne Morris and Karley Sciortino.

Johnson, Fanning, and Smith also serve as producers alongside Swanberg and Ashleigh Snead, with executive producers Dan Johnson, Kathy Gitibin Parsa, and Ariana Parsa. The film was shot on 35mm by cinematographer Eon Mora against the backdrop of Alaska.

In  The Sun Never Sets, “Wendy’s (Fanning) life is thrown into chaos when her boyfriend Jack (Johnson) asks to put their relationship on pause. Forced into emotional limbo, she unexpectedly reconnects with her ex, Chuck (Michael-Smith), who is adventurous, wild – everything Jack isn’t. Caught in a love triangle she didn’t ask for, Wendy must choose between her past and her future.”

Earlier this week, we revealed that Independent Film Company has acquired U.S. rights and plans to release this year.
