Scott Mills ‘Bake Off’ Episode Scrapped By Channel 4 After BBC Firing

An episode of Channel 4‘s Celebrity Great British Bake Off featuring disgraced ex-BBC radio presenter Scott Mills has been axed.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 told outlets that “having carefully considered the circumstances, we’ve taken the decision not to air the final episode of the 2026 series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, featuring Scott Mills.”

The Mills ep was due to air Sunday April 18 but an “alternative” will go out in its place, Channel 4 said. He appeared in the ep of Channel 4’s most-watched show alongside the likes of singer Rag n Bone Man, broadcaster Edith Bowman and JLS member Aston Merrygold.

Celebrity Great British Bake Off is the celeb version of Channel 4’s top-rated hit from Love Productions. Unlike the main series, it features four new contestants per ep, meaning that Channel 4 isn’t faced with the dilemma of having an entire series to dump.

After news broke of a previous police probe into Mills for historical sexual offence allegations reportedly involving a child under the age of 16, Mills was dropped from a Race Across the World spin-off he was due to host for the BBC.

The Mills saga dominated headlines last week. He was one of the top-paid BBC presenters, hosting the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, and his career at the corporation spanned nearly 30 years.

He was fired 10 days ago after new information came to light over historic allegations he faced of serious sexual offenses against a teenage boy. He was questioned by police in 2017 and the BBC was aware but the BBC said the new information had emerged over the past few weeks leading to his sacking. The BBC’s admission has raised serious questions about why the corporation kept Mills on-air in 2017.
