Prince Harry‘s family reconciliation efforts have reached a disappointing standstill!
The Duke of Sussex and his father King Charles III only just started groundbreaking attempts to heal their family feud, having their first in-person meeting in September 2025 after nearly two years of estrangement. All seemed to be going well… until it wasn’t.
Now, Charles is set to travel to the US, and it’s highly unlikely he’ll make time to visit with his son and daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, or their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. But why??

Royal expert Christopher Andersen thinks it all ties back to the other infamous royal: Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Speaking to Us Weekly on Wednesday, the author said:
“The [Jeffrey] Epstein scandal and Andrew’s involvement in it has rocked the monarchy to its core. In the midst of all this turmoil, Harry and Meghan [Markle] have very much been put on the back burner.”
He added:
“They haven’t got the bandwidth to repair the long-standing rupture with Harry. That whole healing process appears to have been put on hold.”
Oof. On the one hand, we bet they’re relieved not to be the center of all the drama for the family! But it also sucks that this scandal is ruining their healing! Especially since it’s unclear when Andrew’s troubles will fade away.
As Perezcious readers know, the former Duke of York is in the hot seat after he was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office for revelations uncovered in the Epstein files. He’s, of course, been called out for his questionable ties to Jeffrey Epstein for a long time now, and as the DOJ releases more investigative documents, concerns only rise. The royals have done their best to shun him amid this turbulent time, and it now seems like it’s taking all their energy!
A source close to the Sussexes has confirmed the father and son have “no plans” to see each other later this month when the 77-year-old comes to America:
“Healing with Harry’s family is not the royal family’s priority at the moment.”
Because the visit is work-related, Charles also believes it’s not appropriate to make time for Harry and Meghan on the taxpayers’ dime. Which makes sense — though it’s also just a great excuse not to make an effort!
