Anna Duggar has reached out to her brother-in-law after his molestation arrest.
Weeks after Joseph Duggar was arrested in Arkansas for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl in Florida in 2020, more of the family members have reacted. As we’ve been following, several siblings, including Joy-Anna, Jason, Jessa, and Jana have all condemned their brother’s reprehensible actions. But not his sister-in-law Anna…
Following his arrest, Anna reached out to Joseph via email in jail, where she sent him advice AND money. She began her email, which was obtained by People on Thursday:
“Hey Joseph! Bro, you’ve got our prayers. We love you — however we can help, please let us know.”

She noted she “put some money on your books” so the accused sex offender could buy things from the commissary and call his wife Kendra. She then went on to give him advice about the Washington County jail, where his brother and her husband Josh was incarcerated between 2021 and 2022 for his own child sex crimes:
“Just remember, don’t talk about anything legal unless you are with an attorney. Everything said in these messages, phone calls, and video chats are recorded and turned over to prosecutors.”
She claimed “Joshua‘s experience there at Washington County was fairly safe,” but implored Joseph to contact her “if there are any concerns for your health, or safety.”
Anna further noted the “commissary has a two week delay” and suggested Joseph inquire to see if that’s still the case because “if you will be there a while, we definitely want to send some goodies your way.” She closed her email by raving about Kendra’s strength, before adding:
“Praying for ya, love ya. Anna.”
That’s just… no comment.
In the following days on March 22, Joseph emailed Anna back after he was unable to get in contact with Kendra. He asked her to help arrange a call, which she did, in addition to giving him advice on how to navigate solitary confinement:
“You can put in a request to chaplain to visit you — he can give you more books too.”
Joseph was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 or older. He appeared in Florida court on Tuesday and was released on a $600,000 bond, but was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, including his own four children.
