Louis Leterrier Sci-Fi Film At Netflix Gets New Name And Release Date

Netflix has announced that its sci-fi thriller formerly known as 11817 is now titled The Last House. Directed by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, Lupin), and starring Greta Lee (A House of Dynamite) and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent), the film releases on streaming on August 7.

The Last House is about a family of four who are suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out and must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat keeping them trapped.

Riley Chung (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Emma Ho (The Baker), Alexander Noah Sosnowski (Section 8), and Gabriel Barbosa (May December) co-star. We were first to report on the involvement of Lee and Moura when Netflix acquired the film last January.

The script comes from Matthew Robinson (Love and Monsters, Dora and the Lost City of Gold). In addition to directing, Leterrier produced the pic alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson for Chernin Entertainment, as well as Oly Obst for 3 Arts Entertainment. Thomas Benski, Cecile Gaget, Lars Sylvest, Thorsten Schumacher and Damian Anderson served as executive producers.

News of The Last House‘s title and release date comes following our scoop that Leterrier is set to direct Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Liminal, a new sci-fi thriller for Apple.
