Lonely Island member name-drops ‘SNL’ host who made him ‘very uncomfortable’

Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone did not enjoy working with Kevin Spacey on “Saturday Night Live.”

During Friday’s episode of the Daily Beast’s “Obsessed” podcast, the comedian recalled Spacey making him feel “very uncomfortable” when they crossed paths for the May 20, 2006, episode.

Spacey was hosting at the time, while Taccone and his fellow Lonely Island members Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer worked on the NBC program as digital shorts producers.

Taccone name-dropped Spacey, 66, as the “one person [he] wasn’t super geeked on” during his time on the sketch show.

“I did not enjoy that,” Taccone added, “and felt very uncomfortable around him.”

Taccone made not further comments about the “House of Cards” alum.

Spacey’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Taccone clarified that besides Spacey, he liked every star that hosted “SNL” during his tenure on the show.

He particularly praised “gracious and sweet” Steve Martin, as well as Ben Stiller, whom he said was “so fun” to work with.

“It may be that people are on their best behavior,” Taccone explained of the hosts, “or they’re being opened up to the way this crazy system works.”

Spacey has hosted “SNL” twice: first on January 11, 1997, with musical guest Beck, and again in 2006 with musical guest Nelly.

During his opening monologue for the latter episode, Spacey jokingly compared the number of voters in the 2004 presidential election to “American Idol” voters.

Spacey also appeared in a digital short called “Andy’s Excuse” where he did a skit with Samberg, 47.

Spacey fell from grace a decade later after he was accused by over 30 men — including “Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp — of inappropriate behavior or sexual assault, with the claims beginning to emerge in 2017.

Netflix ultimately eliminated Spacey’s iconic role on the enormously popular “House of Cards,” which ended in 2018 with his co-star Robin Wright replacing him at the helm.

Spacey was found not liable in his headline-making case against Rapp, 54, in 2022 and, the following summer, was found not guilty of assaulting four men in a high-profile London trial.

Last month, he settled out of court with three men accusing him of sexual assault.

The “American Beauty” actor’s recent focus has been on making a comeback in Hollywood.

When he received a lifetime achievement award at an event in Cannes, France, last May, Spacey called the past several years “challenging” but insisted he’s “not angry, not bitter [and] not resentful” about what happened.

Instead, Spacey claimed he’s “more present, more loving, more understanding and more forgiving than … ever.”

He made his TV return with “Minimarket” in December 2025.
