EXCLUSIVE: Liz Parker, a 20-year veteran of publishing, media, and entertainment most recently at Verve, has launched Parker Projects, an IP management and advisory company that will rep a roster of authors and creators while advising companies and brands on their IP strategies.
Parker’s new company will operate at the intersection of IP and media, a space she believes has never been more critical or more complex. She’ll rep artists at various stages of diversification, with a focus on long-term impact and career control. As an advisor, she specializes in media strategy, creative dealmaking, and building IP ecosystems for companies of all sizes, helping organizations create storytelling mechanisms that maximize revenue and drive growth across their full operation.
Based in Los Angeles, Parker spent the last eight years building and leading the IP business at Verve — now a full-service division of the agency — which during her tenure sold more than 250 projects across publishing, audio, film, television, and licensing.
In a statement to Deadline on the impetus for launching her company, she observed, “IP has never been more valuable, yet IP strategy is not just about selling rights, but about building the necessary infrastructure that enables storytelling to become a growth engine for everything else.”
Clients of Parker’s include 12:01 Books, the Atria imprint she established with Scott Glassgold and Emily Bestler, which has seven titles releasing from this month through December 2027; Marcus Kliewer, bestselling author of We Used to Live Here and the forthcoming The Caretaker, marking the inaugural title from 12:01 Books title; Jakob Kerr, bestselling author of Dead Money; Melissa Arnot, the first American woman to summit Everest without oxygen; Suzanne Rindell, bestselling author of The Other Typist; Jimmy Juliano, bestselling author of Dead Eleven; and Anna Akbari, bestselling author of There Is No Ethan.
A literary agent since 2015, Parker held roles prior to Verve at Penguin Random House (Viking), Counterpoint/Soft Skull, Maria B. Campbell Associates, and InkWell Management.
