Billionaire hedge funder John Paulson and his ex-wife, Jenny Paulson, have settled their divorce, Page Six has exclusively learned.
The settlement is sealed, but court docs reflect that the settlement was filed May 4.
“Jenny Paulson and John Paulson have come to the decision to amicably settle their divorce and trust-related litigations,” said Jenny’s attorney Robert S. Cohen, and John’s attorney Marilyn Chinitz, in a joint statement on Wednesday. “They consider this settlement a private matter and neither party nor any family nor friends of the parties will have any further comment.”
The settlement marks the end of a years-long bitter legal battle between the exes.
Back in July 2022, Jenny accused the billionaire of setting up a “secretive web of trusts” to hide money from her, according to court documents. Paulson’s side denied the accusation, saying in court docs that the trusts were set up together decades ago to protect their kids.
We reported in 2024 that John had offered Jenny hundreds of millions in cash in their divorce after 21 years of marriage — but that Jenny called the offer “humiliating and demeaning.”
“In my heart and my spirit I feel I deserve a 50/50 split” she wrote in an email, we reported. Or, “60/40 is OK because there have been other similar divorce arrangements.” She also called her ex’s offers “disrespectful, shameful and humiliating,” we reported.
His side countered that his offer would make Jenny, “one of the richest women in America,” while keeping major trusts in place for their daughters.
The divorce also sparked a war of words between the exes’ attorneys, with Cohen once quipping of John, “The man is worth billions of dollars… and Mr. Paulson offered Mrs. Paulson only a monthly ‘allowance,’” adding at the time, “That’s called chutzpah — or in English, hypocrisy!” Chinitz of Blank Rome fired back at the time in a comment, “In what universe is hundreds of millions in upfront cash, plus annual eight-figure distributions for the rest of her life – all tax free – considered an ‘allowance?’”

But it seems peace has prevailed, and neither side commented on the final settlement besides their joint statement.
A source told us of the settlement, “The talks began in earnest earlier this year,” adding that a judge in the case encouraged the parties to engage in settlement talks. “It’s fair to everybody.”
The former spouses were also at war over estates in the Hamptons and Aspen, Colo., and they did not have a prenup, we reported.
John famously made billions betting against the housing market before the 2008 crash, and he’s reported to be worth about $4.7 billion.
Paulson, 70, got engaged to his girlfriend, Alina de Almeida, 38, in 2024, and the couple welcomed a daughter last year, we reported.
