Gavin Newsom is preparing to step up to the political heavyweight league with an almost certain 2028 White House campaign, and to make a bigger name for himself the California Governor is aiming to sock “little guy” Joe Rogan right in the kisser.
Mere hours before going on HBO‘s Real Time with Bill Maher tonight, the term-limited Democrat really stepped up his mocking of the top manosphere podcaster Friday.
Going into full Trump mode with a second all caps post in as many days, Newsom’s turned up the volume of the years long feud between himself and the former Fear Factor host — once again, from the Governor’s POV it’s all about Rogan not having him on the Joe Rogan Experience.
“‘Little Guy’ Joe Rogan is too scared to have me on, but he wont stop talking about me,” a post Friday on Newsom’s high profile press office trolling X feed. “He is obsessed with my ‘good looks,’ just like Jesse ‘see you in court’ Watters,” it adds. “A little weird, but thank you!”
Newsom, who has ventured into the arena with Fox News and the late Charlie Kirk in the past, has never been a guest on the JRE. Seen as one of the most influential voices out there in today’s fractured media, Rogan’s long conversation podcast, which has had Donald Trump, RFK Jr, Kash Patel and more MAGAheads on over the years, currently has 20.9 million subscribers on YouTube.
Do the math and it’s not hard to see why Newsom and team are trying to get on the show or may a fuss about not being on the show.
“Anyway, if the ‘Little Guy’ is ready to get out of his booster seat and have me on, i will even let him have three lifelines to phone a friend during the show when he needs help,” the X post from the official Governor Newsom Press Office feed goes on to say today. “I’ll even stay seated. Until then, he is worse than ‘chicken.’ He is TOFU! Thank you for your attention to this matter – Governor GCN”
That last sentence and the signature is of course lifted almost entirely from how Trump commonly and oddly signs off his own posts.
This latest slapfest from Newsom started on April 30, when the Governor’s gang posted that “Joe ‘Little Guy’ Rogan is too chicken to have me on his failing podcast because he know I’d crush him, so he takes cheap shots from the peanut gallery as he gets relegated to irrelevancy.” Over a 2023 clip of the ex-Golden State resident slagging Newsom, the post continued: “All talk, no action. I’m ready when you are, “Little Guy.” or keep hiding!!!! — Governor GCN”
In that clip from several years back, now Texas-based Rogan pins Newsom as a “f*cking con man” and a “stone cold, narrative-driven politician.”
Maybe more raw to the Governor then and now Rogan goes on to compare him to Trump on the authenticity scale. “Whether you like Trump or not, whether you think he’s corrupt, or not that’s a human being,” Rogan went on to say, after listing various disagreements (to put it kindly) with the Democrat. “With Newsom, you’ve got like this construct, this cardboard cutout of a person.”
Back in October last year, after Rogan slammed Newsom for wanting to be POTUS “so bad,” the Governor sneered the host to get on the show. Augmented by a wall of stats, that attempt was obviously unsuccessful.
As of this evening, Rogan, who has had an slight up and down and currently back up relationship with Trump, has not responded to Newsom’s latest taunts — which is maybe why the ambitious Governor doubled down today. Perhaps Newsom will bring it up with Maher tonight.
