Like Olivia Rodrigo during her Saturday Night Live monologue, Bizaardvark co-star Jake Paul is reminiscing on the “good ole days.”
The internet personality and boxer recently responded to a teasing rib the three-time Grammy winner made during her opening segment, in which she compared their career paths and how they’ve both achieved their dreams.
“When I was 13, I was on a Disney show called Bizaardvark,” Rodrigo recalled. “We had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul. We’d always talk about our futures, me and Jake. I’d say, ‘I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age.’ And he’d say, ‘Well, one day I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix.’ And we both did it! Hurray!”
Taking to social media, Paul wrote that they both “had the vision” and “i told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did.” He concluded, “proud of you fr.” The former Vine star reposted his tweet on Instagram set to Rodrigo’s smash debut “drivers license.”
When a commenter responded to his initial tweet that the singer-songwriter was laughing “at him and not with him,” Paul took it in stride, saying, “I got that she was making a joke at my expense. So what. She’s on SNL and that’s what they are supposed to do. Doesn’t change my admiration of her and her success.”
On Instagram, he also posted a throwback picture of the two of them on the set of the Disney Channel sitcom, which ran for three seasons from 2016 to 2019. “Ah the good ole days,” he captioned the photo.
Last night marked Rodrigo’s hosting debut on SNL and third time performing. She was previously a musical guest, in 2021 and 2023.
