Nikki Glaser fled Los Angeles for Missouri to get “away from it all.”
The comedian discussed her departure on “Live With Kelly and Mark” Wednesday when Mark Conseulos asked what it was like returning to St. Louis for her “Good Girl” comedy special.
“I live in St. Louis,” the 41-year-old, who suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the sitdown, clarified. “I moved back to St. Louis after COVID … and stayed there.”
Glaser joked that she had “a lot of free tickets to comp” for her St. Louis show and “didn’t make a lot of money.”
She explained, “It was lots of people from high school, you know, people from my pilates class, my self-tan lady from the strip mall. But it was fun. It’s fine, I guess, that my childhood dentist knows about my sex life now. I guess that’s appropriate.”
The Emmy nominee, who “suspend[s] disbelief” and pretends people she knows are “not there,” added that her parents have “hardened souls” and are used to her telling raunchy jokes onstage for “over 20 years.”
“There is … no life behind their eyes when they’re watching me,” she quipped, adding that she “bring[s] them everywhere” and dubbing the couple “nepo parents.”
Glaser, notably, documented her St. Louis return on E!’s “Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?” in 2022.
Last year, the “FBoy Island” host opened up to “St Louis on the Air” listeners about her “relaxed” life in Missouri allowing her to “focus on [her] family while they’re still around and healthy and want to hang out with” her.
“Here … I get back to what’s important: having a good time and going out to eat,” she added in the 2025 interview.
Glaser noted that living in Hollywood — and, previously, in New York City — was full of people “really chasing that status.”
She said, “When I’m on both of the coasts, it’s like constantly comparing yourself.”
Glaser added that having A-list pals and a lot of social media followers “does not matter” where she resides now.
“That’s not here, and that’s not what people value here,” she continued. “And it just recalibrates me.”
The Golden Globe nominee was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but raised in a suburb of St. Louis.
