Steve Burton called out ex-wife Sheree Gustin’s “manipulation” amid their contentious custody battle over their kids.
The “General Hospital” actor submitted alleged texts from Gustin from March, in which they were arguing over visitation of their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, according to docs obtained by TMZ.
“This is manipulation. You signed an order,” Burton allegedly wrote in one of the texts, which was sent to Gustin on March 14.
“So the response should have been hey brook your dad has you a lot in the summer.. but I know your priority is not having her spend time with us. Activities do not trump time with family.”
His text continued, “Again this is something that you signed and you decided to neglect that and now put it on brook.. and now you get to say dad won’t let you. when you should have said it’s not gonna work. So now you’ll be able to say you made a mistake and we should schedule my weeks.”
In response, Gustin told her ex — who moved to Tennessee — that their pre-teen wanted to be a part of a junior lifeguards program where they live in California.
“No it’s not. I told you she wanted to do jr guards,” she allegedly wrote, per docs obtained by TMZ. “You knew this. You are the one who decided to move. Her life is here. She’s going to be more involved in things.”
The mom of five told Burton she was “willing to work” with him, but argued that Brooklyn “shouldn’t be limited to activities she wants to do” because he “insist[s]” on her being in Tennessee.
“That’s not right or fair to her,” she concluded. “Please just enjoy your weekend with your daughter. I’m done talking about this.”
In another message obtained by the outlet, Burton claimed Gustin has “never been willing to work” with him on “anything.”
“If you were, we never would’ve gone to court in the first place just to see my daughter,” he allegedly said.
Earlier this week, the “Last Castle” actor, 55, filed court documents claiming Gustin was interfering with his custodial time with Brooklyn, per TMZ.
He asked for a judge’s assistance with getting his ex-wife to comply with their custody agreement — which they finalized in December 2023 — that states that they will share joint legal and physical custody of their two minor children, Brooklyn and Jack, who was 17 at the time. (They’re also parents to 22-year-old daughter Makena.)
Burton claims Gustin has refused to give him their daughter this summer, and instead enrolled Brooklyn in a six-week program in California that conflicts with the time she would be in Tennessee with her dad.
Burton asked the court to order Gustin to follow their custody agreement and to sanction her for $5,000.
As Page Six previously reported, Burton announced in 2022 that he was divorcing his then-pregnant wife, Gustin, after learning that she was carrying a child who was not his.
“I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated,” he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine.”
The exes finalized their divorce in December 2023.
Two months later, Gustin gave birth to baby No. 5. She shares both kids with husband Jason Amador.
Meanwhile, Burton tied the knot with Michelle Lundstrom in an intimate Orthodox church ceremony in Laguna Beach, California, last May.
