EXCLUSIVE: Curry Barker‘s next movie Anything But Ghosts continues to expand its cast, this time with M3GAN franchise and Thunderbolts* actress Violet McGraw.
She joins already cast Barker, Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard and the filmmaker’s collaborator Cooper Tomlinson. The pic has already wrapped shooting in Vancouver, BC.
As we first told you, Focus Features is distributing Anything But Ghosts, its second pic with Barker after acquiring his upcoming Obsession out of TIFF Midnight Madness for $10 million+. Barker directed Anything But Ghosts and co-wrote with Tomlinson.
Obsession, which opens May 15, is currently 96% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures and Divide/Conquer are producers on Anything But Ghosts. Producers are Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Roy Lee & Steven Schneider (Spooky Pictures), Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath (Divide/Conquer), in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea. Executive producers are Barker, Tomlinson and Image Nation’s Ben Ross.
McGraw returned last year to the big screen in M3GAN 2.0 and rejoined the MCU as young Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts*. She also reunited with filmmaker Mike Flanagan for The Life of Chuck, winner of the People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival. Most recently, she starred opposite her sister Madeleine in The Curse of the Necklace, with both siblings serving as producers.
McGraw first broke through in Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House before going on to play Young Yelena in Black Widow. She also leads the Tubi YA comedy Summer’s Last Resort alongside Sophia Bush and Jerry O’Connell.
