Christophe Pinard-Legry Named Canal+ Europe CEO As He & MultiChoice Chief David Mignot Join Board

Christophe Pinard-Legry has been named CEO of Canal+ Europe. The exec will also join Canal+’s board alongside Canal+ Africa and MultiChoice boss David Mignot.

Pinard-Legry takes on the European role in addition to his post as CEO of Canal+ France. He and Mignot took their places on the board alongside Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada, Deputy CEO and Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh, Canal+ CFO Amandine Ferré and Gérald‑Brice Viret, another top Canal+ France exec.

Jacques du Puy, who ran Canal+’s global TV business and had held a President of International post for well over a decade, recently retired.

Pinard-Legry has risen from an initial Commercial Director role a decade ago, becoming Canal+ France’s CEO for business in 2022. In France, he runs operations alongside Viret, who is CEO in charge of Programmes and Channels.

His new role means Pinard-Legry will oversee Canal+’s subsidiaries and coordinate all of its activities across Europe, where the London-listed group has 18 million subscribers across 10 countries.

Those reporting into him include Aline Aliz, who runs Canal+ Overseas; Yassine Bouzoubaa, who runs Canal+ Benelux and Central Europe; and Edtya Sadowska, who leads Canal+ Poland.

The news comes after Canal+ completed its $2B acquisition of African content giant MultiChoice in October last year. Mignot was handed control of MultiChoice alongside his existing role as CEO of Canal+ Africa. Among
