Cher's Second Conservatorship Request For Son Elijah Blue Allman DENIED - Here's Why!

Bad news for Cher

As we previously reported, the legendary singer filed for a temporary conservatorship over her 49-year-old son Elijah Blue Allman‘s estate this month after he had been arrested twice in March, claiming he is “gravely disabled” due to mental health and substance abuse issues. This is not the first time Cher has asked for a conservatorship. She did so three years ago, asking to be the sole conservator, but later dismissed the case after reaching a private agreement. But this time, she asked for fiduciary Jason Rubin to take on the role instead.

However, the judge won’t go for it! According to People, the court rejected her request on Friday due to a lack of “sufficient urgency.” Elijah appeared at the hearing via a video call from a psychiatric hospital, where he is currently in custody “in an attempt to restore him to competency” amid his criminal cases in New Hampshire. Since he is in the hospital, the judge argued he is unable to access any of the money he receives from his late father Gregg Allman‘s trust and doesn’t need a conservatorship right now. Oof.

The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning Cher can re-file at a later date. Whether she will, we’ll see.
