Cher’s conservatorship request of son Elijah Blue Allman’s estate denied in court

Cher’s request to place her son Elijah Blue Allman under a conservatorship was denied by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge at a Friday, April 24 hearing.

The judge ruled there was not “sufficient urgency” to grant the request, Page Six can confirm. The decision was made without prejudice, meaning Cher can file again in the future.

In a statement shared with Page Six, Allman’s attorney Avi Levy said, “Today, the court again declined to find any basis for a temporary conservatorship over Elijah’s estate. The court was not persuaded that Cher met her burden under the Probate Code to show that a temporary conservatorship was necessary to protect Elijah.”

“Appearing remotely, Elijah confirmed his preference to be represented by Steven Brumer of Cage & Miles, LLP, and he will continue to oppose any effort to control his financial affairs,” the statement continued.

In her petition, Cher, 79, alleged that Allman, 49, is “gravely disabled,” raising concerns about his ability to manage his finances and care for himself, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

Levy opposed the request, and told Page Six, “Elijah is disappointed, but not surprised, by this latest attempt to gain control over his finances.”

“We have spoken with Elijah several times this week, and he remains in good spirits despite the circumstances. Elijah does oppose the latest petition.”

The court’s decision comes as Allman remains “in custody in the psychiatric unit of a facility in New Hampshire” according to court documents.

The case follows a prior conservatorship effort in 2023, which was also denied before being withdrawn after a private agreement between the two.
