Cameron Diaz’s family is the sweetest thing.
The actress shares three children — daughter Raddix and sons Cardinal and Nautus — with husband Benji Madden, whom she wed in January 2015.
The couple has kept their little ones out of the spotlight since starting a family in late 2019, with the Good Charlotte member explaining their choice via Instagram.
“We … feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy,” Madden told his followers after becoming a father. “W won’t be posting pictures or sharing more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would say RAD.”
He reiterated this when baby No. 2 arrived — and promised the infant was “really cute” as well.

Raddix Madden
Diaz and Madden did not announce they had a little one on the way before welcoming Raddix.
“Happy New Year from the Maddens!” the new parents wrote via Instagram in January 2020. “We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden.
“She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family,” the duo continued in the since-deleted post.
Diaz called motherhood “heaven” during a “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” interview the following year.
In 2022, she shared her tactics for apologizing to her “challenging” toddler after losing her cool on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
“It’s really imperative to repair,” she explained. “They’re not actively trying to be bad. My job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she’s going through, and be able to help her identify that and then move through it.”
Cardinal Madden
When Cardinal joined the family in March 2024, his parents gushed, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden❤️🙏. He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here!
“For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures — but he’s a really cute,” they continued.
Benji’s brother, Joel Madden, told “Entertainment Tonight” the next month that Cardinal’s bird-themed name came as a “surprise” since he and wife Nicole Richie named their son Sparrow.
“I think it’s just a twin thing,” Richie speculated to the outlet of the monikers’ similarities. “Who knows?”
Nautus Madden
Nautus arrived in May 2026, with Benji and Diaz feeling “happy, excited and … so BLESSED.”
They gushed via Instagram, “Welcome to the world Son!! We love life with our family — our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!! Having a blast, sending all our best wishes.”
The musician shared a playing card at the time to explain the meaning of Nautus’ name: “sailor, navigator, voyager, one who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”
