Britney Spears Voluntarily Enters Rehab - She Knows 'She Hit Rock Bottom'

Britney Spears has checked into rehab.

Sources told TMZ on Sunday that the Princess of Pop voluntarily chose to check into rehab in the United States a few days ago after her loved ones urged her to seek help. One insider expressed:

“She realizes she hit rock bottom.”

Oof. Sad, but we’re glad to hear she’s getting help.

While this time in rehab is very much to help her become her best self and navigate her substance abuse issues, which have included challenges with alcohol and Adderall over the years, the insiders added that she’s also hoping it’ll ease any consequences in her DUI case following her arrest last month, an insider shared:

“She knows strategically this will look good in front of the judge — that she’s taking it seriously.”

A People source doubled down:

“She understands the seriousness of her situation and felt this was the best step moving forward. She’s now seeking treatment.”

It’s unclear how long she’ll stay — the singer isn’t putting any limitations on herself. A Page Six insider elaborated:

“She doesn’t know yet. This isn’t for a set 30 or 60-day program. It will take as long as she needs. She’s not setting a limit on herself. She just wants to feel better and get herself into a healthier space.”

No need to rush her recovery! They added:

“This was her own choice. This isn’t about one substance in particular, it has a dual purpose….this is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking some time for herself to focus on the things that are important to her. … She’s dedicated to working on her health. This is something she really wants to do for herself. This was her own decision.”

Her whole family, including her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who she’s been spending a lot of time with lately, are totally supportive of her decision, too:

“Everyone just wants Britney to be healthy and in a good place and the fact that this was her decision just proves how dedicated she is to her own recovery and getting herself back on solid ground.”

Good! It’s never a bad idea to prioritize mental health and well-being. We hope her time in rehab helps her get back on track and that she allows herself all the time she needs. She’s entered rehab and left within days in the past. We’d hate to see that happen again. Sending Brit Brit lots of love!
