Brawl breaks out at Met Gala 2026 as anti-Bezos protester storms red carpet railing

Tom Ford wrapped his arms around Julianne Moore on the Met Gala 2026 red carpet Monday night, when an anti-Bezos protester rushed the red carpet and was arrested just 20 feet or so from the A-listers.

According to an eyewitness, there was a commotion across the street from the entrance to the ball when a protester — believed to be part of a group decrying Amazon’s labor practices — “pushed his way through the crowd of fans and press” behind a steel barrier on the east side of Fifth Avenue, opposite the Metropolitan Museum, where the bash is held.

We’re told he leapt over the first of two steel barriers standing between him and the party, sprinted through traffic coming down the famed avenue along the side of Central Park, and vaulted the second steel barrier.

The source told Page Six that nearly a dozen police jumped the protester before he was arrested and removed.

“Tom instinctively put his arms around Julianne to protect her,” the witness said of the designer. “He was only about 20 feet away from them.”

We’re told “Heated Rivalry” star Connor Storrie was also on the red carpet at the time of the incident.

Sources say Bezos’s wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, had walked the red carpet earlier but had been inside for well over an hour when the protester made the dash.

A spy on the red carpet said that the Amazon founder has yet to be seen on the carpet.

The Bezos are the sponsors and honorary chairs of the event, and security has been heavy in the area partly because of ongoing protests against the e-tail titan, who has been accused of exploitative labor practices.
