Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s nasty legal battle stemming from their 2024 film “It Ends With Us” is finally over.
The pair settled Lively’s suit against her director and co-star on Monday — two weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial on May 18 and a month after a judge threw out 10 out of 13 of Lively’s claims.
“The end product — the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” both sides said in a joint statement to Page Six. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”
They continued, “We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard.”
Both parties added that they “remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments” and it is their “sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”
On Feb. 11, Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 42, arrived at the federal court of the Southern District of New York in Manhattan for a chance at resolving their legal battle ahead of what would have been their May 18 trial.
The former co-stars showed up in bizarrely similar ensembles.
Lively, who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds, showed up solo, while Baldoni arrived with his wife, Emily Baldoni, walking hand in hand into the building.
Their closed-door hearing was overseen by Judge Sarah L. Cave and marked the first time the actors faced off in court since their legal battle began in 2024.
Later that evening, Baldoni left the court holding hands with his wife. The actor smiled at photographers but kept silent when asked about the deal. Lively left a few minutes later.
Deadline reported that Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said attempts to reach a pretrial deal that day were “unsuccessful.”
While Freedman acknowledged that “there’s always a chance” of settling, he didn’t “know that we will” resume talks.
On Feb. 12, Baldoni and his wife arrived for a second day in court after his “unsuccessful” court-ordered settlement conference with Lively, who was not present.
In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against the director, accusing him of sexually harassing her on the set of “It Ends With Us.”
Baldoni denied Lively’s claims and, the next month, filed a $400 million countersuit against the actress, her 49-year-old husband and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, alleging defamation, extortion and more.
However, Baldoni’s suit was dismissed in June 2025.
Then, last month, a federal judge dismissed most of the claims in Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni.
Judge Lewis Liman threw out 10 of Lively’s 13 claims against Baldoni, including sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy, according to court docs obtained by Page Six.
However, three of her claims were allowed to proceed: breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation.
Private text messages and emails were released as part of Lively’s unsealed deposition last month as well.
In one email, the mom of four begged Ben Affleck, her co-star in 2010’s “The Town,” and his then-wife, Jennifer Lopez, to watch her cut of “It Ends With Us” amid her showdown with Baldoni.
Lively’s texts with Taylor Swift were also exposed. In the messages, the “Bad Blood” singer, 36, referred to Baldoni as a “bitch” who “knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.”
Last summer, Baldoni issued a subpoena to Swift to appear in court as a witness in the ongoing legal feud; however, the subpoena was dropped later that month.
Due to the drama affecting the pop star, she halted her friendship with Lively.
Page Six exclusively reported in October that the “Fortnight” singer had had “no contact” with Lively and that they hadn’t spoken since winter 2024.
