According to reports from that outlet and others, Gates will sit for a transcribed interview with the House Oversight Committee on June 10. This isn’t just a routine appearance. Lawmakers are expected to press him on deeply uncomfortable questions, including the nature of his relationship with Epstein, what he may have known about Epstein’s crimes, and why he chose to associate with a man whose past was already marked by a conviction involving a minor. Gates has previously said he first met Epstein in 2011, years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction in Florida. That timeline alone raises eyebrows, and it’s clear the committee wants clarity.
