Nick Jonas is set to star in an upcoming Netflix rom-com, but his latest role may be his most unexpected yet: the face of Schick’s new “Do Right by Your Skin” campaign, launched April 29.

Founded in 1926 by a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, the personal care company is undergoing an evolution — embracing a refreshed ethos centered on skin health and putting Jonas at the forefront of this rebrand. Its updated shaving lineup highlights comfort and care, featuring ingredients like aloe, hydrating gel, pro-vitamin B5, chamomile, and self-lathering technology.

The campaign video opens with Jonas gazing into a mirror, his face dripping wet. Moments later, he emerges from what appears to be a tranquil lake, slicking back his hair and revealing a near-perfect shave. Jonas then turns to the camera and poses a simple question: “And your razor just removes hair?”

Turns out, he’s pretty damn effective at convincing men to ditch their rigid disposables and upgrade to a brand that’s spent a century perfecting close, comfortable, and hydrating shaves.

Amidst traveling for the Jonas Brothers reunion tour (you can grab tickets here) and juggling dad duties (his daughter, Malti, is four), the actor and singer emphasizes the importance of carving out time for yourself. We hopped on Zoom with Jonas to chat about his shaving routine, touring with his brothers, and the response to his recent album, Sunday Best. Read the full interview below.

Schick

Schick is now taking what it calls a skin-first approach. Why does that appeal to you, and how does it align with your personal skincare habits?
I’ve been using Schick products for a long time and was really excited when the opportunity came up to do this campaign and to focus on the skincare aspect of it.  As someone who’s lived a lot of my life in the public eye, on red carpets or on stage, having a daily routine that prepares me to step out and be the best I can be each day is something I value. But you don’t have to have my experiences to relate to the sentiment.

Dependable and skin-protecting.

What does your grooming routine look like?
I do the best I can do. When I’m home, I’m [devoting] any time I can to my daughter.  And when I’m on set, I’m probably also focused on [other] things.  A hack that my brother Joe actually gave me is this thing called a face tub, which I absolutely love. You put some ice in it, a little water, and dunk your face in. It takes down your inflammation and wakes your whole body up. Eye gels  are another good one for that, on top of just having a baseline skin routine. I’m pretty consistent with haircare, using products like my Philip B. shampoo and conditioner. They’re mint-infused scalp invigorators, which feel amazing in the morning. I’ve also been using STMNT’s hair products; they make a really great fiber pomade.

A dry skin savior.

What has the public’s reaction been to your album Sunday Best in the past few months, and what was the most gratifying part of making it?
The most gratifying part was getting to work with so many of my friends: new friends like JP Saxe, who was an integral part of the creative process, and longtime friends like Paris Carney, Dewain Whitmore, Jr., and Ryan Daly. It was a group of people that really gave me space to feel comfortable and confident, and as open as I wanted to be in those songs.  Since the release of the album, I’ve been blown away by the response and connection to it. It feels good when you go to those vulnerable places and open up in that way, and then people connect it to their own lives. That’s what it’s all about for me as a creator: Saying the thing that’s most real and hoping people apply it in a way that makes sense for them.

Feels like silk.

Between you, Kevin, and Joe, who spends the most time on his grooming, and has it been the same throughout your lives, or has it changed as you grew up and made families of your own?
Probably me! I enjoy getting out the door in a speedy manner, but I also think it’s important to take that time for yourself. Not an exorbitant amount of time, but enough to really settle in and [go through] those steps: starting with a great shave and then jumping into skincare or whatever else puts you in the right place to take on the day.

A big part of your life is the reunion tour. When you’re not home, everything is probably a bit shaken up. How do you manage to remain grounded in this context?
By being patient with myself. Not every day has to be perfect, and your routine can change while everything comes at you a million miles a minute. It’s just about doing the best you can in that moment — what are you doing to make the next best choice? Life’s too short to add unnecessary stress where we don’t have to.
