Shapiro will appear on CNN’s on-air and digital programming, and will co-host a video podcast with Audie Cornish, his colleague at NPR. Cornish, a CNN anchor and analyst, joined the network in 2022.
The podcast, Engagement Party, “will take a savvy look at the moments and trends driving conversations online and beyond,” according to the network. It will debut on May 22 and will be available on CNN’s streaming service and podcast platforms.
Shapiro was host of All Things Considered for 10 years and, before that, was NPR’s international correspondent based in London and White House correspondent during Barack Obama’s presidency. He served as justice correspondent during the presidency of George W. Bush. He also hosted the reality competition series The Mole for Netflix and is the author of the memoir, The Best Strangers in the World.
