EXCLUSIVE: HBO Max‘s American Blue pilot continues to build its series regular cast with the addition of Paulina Olszynski (Best Thing), Algee Smith (Euphoria), Jeremy Bobb (The Knick), and Rich Sommer (Mad Men).
They join the previously announced lead, Milo Ventimiglia as Brian Milkovich, alongside Kelly Jenrette as Meg Jackson, Carlito Olivero as Mike Ortiz, Onye Eme-Akwari as Darryl Andrews, Jess Gabor as Suze Dombrowski and Eddie Kaye Thomas as Sergeant Paul “PJ” Booker.
We exclusively announced the project was in the works back in January. The HBO Max cop drama hails from Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Warner Bros Television, where Carver is under an overall deal. David Ayer will direct the pilot.
The one-hour drama American Blue follows native son Brian “Milk” Milkovich (Ventimiglia), who returns to his hometown of Joliet, IL, to rescue a beleaguered police force while seeking redemption of his own.
Details on who the new additions will play can be found below.
Olszynski as Lisa ‘Matty’ Matichak, a patrol officer and mom to a child with special needs, determined to push through her daily challenges with Midwestern grit and a smile.
Smith as Andre Quick, a rookie patrol officer, a go-getter, whose family connections cause him grief on the job.
Bobb as Joe Bebar, a veteran patrol officer, burned out and angry at a world that’s angry at him.
Sommer as Ray Kaluza, Joliet’s Chief of Police, who is struggling to steer his department through a crisis.
Carver writes and executive produces alongside Brian Udovich, Neil Reynolds and Ayer. Ventimiglia co-executive produces, with his longtime producing partner, Russ Cundiff, serving as a producer. Warner Bros Television is the studio for the one-hour drama pilot.
Olszynski is repped by Industry Entertainment. Smith is repped by Neon Kite, UTA, and Goodman Genow Schenkman. Bobb is repped by Gersh and Suskin/Karshan Management. Sommer is repped by Innovative Artists and Davis Spylios Management.
