Aimee Lou Wood proved she can be a good sport when it comes to jokes as she took a jab at her “SNL” teeth debacle ahead of her “SNL UK” hosting stint on Saturday.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode, which was released on Wednesday, the “White Lotus” star, 32, walked up to the group of cast members suspiciously covering their mouths.
“I cannot wait to get started. Especially after that whole ‘thing’ in America with the teeth. So, it’s going to feel good to just wipe the slate clean,” she said in the clip.
“Wait, why are you all covering your mouths?” she asked. “Oh my God, have you guys got fake teeth in?”
Fearing that the comedians upset the actress, the group quickly denied the accusation. But Wood wasn’t having it.
“Wow, so this is all one big set up to humiliate me then? I thought ‘SNL UK would be different, but I was wrong,” she hit back.
Finally, one of the jokesters revealed they “all grew big glorious mustaches” in an attempt to match their co-star Paddy Young, who’s garnered much attention for his facial hair.
They closed out the sketch by giving Wood her own mustache before hugging it out.
Fans of the original sketch comedy show may recall a sketch from an April 2025 episode that featured comedian Sarah Sherman that left Wood feeling a bit perturbed.
The sketch was a pre-taped spoof of “The White Lotus,” which starred Sherman as a parodied version of Wood’s character, Chelsea, wearing an enlarged set of false teeth and sporting an exaggerated British accent.
“Fluoride? What’s that?” she joked, obviously making a wise crack about the actress’ real teeth.
Wood slammed the sketch in a rant shared to her Instagram Stories the following morning.
“I did find the ‘SNL’ thing mean and unfunny xo. (Felt righteous, might delete later),” she wrote at the time. “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple of weeks ago.”
“Yes, take the piss for sure — that’s what the show is about- but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”
Wood later revealed that “SNL” has apologized to her for the sketch. Though, a source later claimed the show did not extend a “formal apology” to the star.
