Netflix has found love with its latest dating series: Age of Attraction has been renewed for a second season.
The renewal comes less than a month after the Velvet Hammer-produced series premiered on the streamer.
It marks a rare bit of a good news in the television dating business, which has had a tough month with the shelving of The Bachelorette. It also marks the first new English-language reality series to receive a second season in nearly a year, since Million Dollar Secret landed a renewal last May.
Age of Attraction, which essentially asks the question: is love ageless, has performed well for Netflix since its launch on March 11. It opened with 3.8M views in its first week on the service and added another 3.2M in its second week. It also made the top ten in 26 countries including the U.S., UK, Australia and Canada and was number one in Estonia.

The series is hosted by Nick Viall, a 45-year old man who starred on The Bachelor after finishing runner-up in two consecutive seasons of The Bachelorette, and his 27-year model and former surgical technologist wife Natalie Joy.
It is one of the few dating shows to have been created by women, in this case Velvet Hammer Media founders Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn.
Filmed in Whistler and Vancouver, the pair exec produced alongside Sam Dean, and David Friedman.

“We love concepts that are impossible to look away from and Age of Attraction nailed that from day one. It’s messy, it’s real and that’s what makes it fun to watch,” said O’Connell and Quinn. “Huge thanks to Netflix for embracing this dating experiment with us. The response has been incredible, and we’re excited to push it even further in Season 2.”
