Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Tyla, and more to headline US World Cup opening ceremony

The acts set to headline the US World Cup opening ceremony have been announced. Find all the details below.

This year’s World Cup takes place between June 11 and July 19, 2026 across 16 cities in  Canada, Mexico and the United States, marking the first time the tournament has been co-hosted across multiple countries.

Celebrations in the US are set to kick off on June 12 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, ahead of the US taking on Paraguay in their opening match.

Now, it’s been revealed that Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Lisa, Rema, and Tyla will headline the celebrations in California.

The day before, other opening ceremonies will be held in Mexico and Toronto – marking the first time FIFA has featured multiple opening ceremonies across different countries for a single tournament.

In Canada, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatei, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince will take the stage to celebrate the opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto’s BMO Field.

Meanwhile, the opening ceremony in Mexico will include J Balvin, Tyla, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, and Danny Ocean before the tournament opener on June 11 between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium.

“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”

More artists are expected to be announced.

In other World Cup news, the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has suggested that nightclubs should hold screenings and act as ‘fan zones’ for the tournament.

Elsewhere, last summer, Robbie Williams released the first-ever official FIFA anthem, ‘Desire’ (featuring Laura Pausini). The pop icon co-founded Soccer Aid for UNICEF with Jonathan Wilkes in 2006. He has competed in the charity matches and performed live at the event.

In July, Coldplay, Doja Cat, J Balvin and Tems performed at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It was previously confirmed that Chris Martin would be helping to choose the acts to appear at the first-ever World Cup half-time show this year.
