Hailey Bieber feels the pressure of fame all the time — and she says it’s made her completely want to “close off” sometimes!
In a new interview with Time on Wednesday, Justin Bieber‘s wife got real about how she feels “misunderstood” a lot of the time. While speaking with the outlet, she said being in the spotlight puts a lot of pressure on her to be perfect:
“Being in this position, in general, there’s a lot of judgment. When you’re trying to figure out who you are on such a big scale and in front of so many different people, it feels really restricting to make really normal mistakes or, like, do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing.”
Understandable! It truly is tough, and Hailey said she gets really “uncomfortable” in interviews because of that fear “because I find that my words get twisted or things get totally misconstrued.” When that happens, she wants to “close off and not be open with people.”

Which is truly so sad! Because the Rhode founder says she loves to share her life with her fans! She explained:
“I am obviously in a position where I want to share my life, and I want to be able to be by myself and be open and be exactly who I am. It just does feel hard sometimes having every single thing be looked at and picked apart. People create a story for you and it can feel really uncomfortable and bizarre sometimes because I’m like, it’s just not even real.”
She also noted how sometimes she feels like there’s no redemption:
“When people have made up their mind about something and about you, they don’t care what the truth is. They just enjoy believing what they believe.”
And as far as defending herself, she doesn’t even do it much anymore because she finds it’s pointless. She explained that “there’s only so much you can do and say to the point where you have to just kind of be like, ‘I have to live my life and continue to move forward.’” So true!
