Stanley Tucci reflects on 21-year age gap with wife Felicity Blunt

Stanley Tucci, 65, couldn’t help but gush over his wife, Felicity Blunt, 45, as he reflected on their 21-year age gap marriage.

“I wasn’t sure that I would ever remarry,” said Tucci — who was previously married to social worker Kathryn Spath from 1995 until she died from cancer in 2009 — on Jenna Bush Hager’s “Open Book” podcast.

“I never thought I would have children again. And when I met her, it just sort of made sense, even though there is this age gap of 21 years. And obviously, I knew her family, or I knew her sister [Emily Blunt] was one of my best friends. And we just hit it off.”

Tucci went on to rave that he and Felicity quickly took to each other because of their similarities, despite them also having many differences.

“We had a lot in common, even though we had nothing in common,” Tucci explained.

“And it just sort of stuck. But I think she changed my life in the sense that she gave me a sense of security. She gave my children a sense of security. And she’s fun. Like, she’s fun to hang out with.”

Tucci continued: “She’s incredibly positive, which I am not always. I mean, her mind is incredible. Her capacity to take in information, not just from a book, but from the world and process it, and turn it into something else is just extraordinary. She’s pretty cool.”

After Tucci’s wife passed, he eventually ran into Felicity once again at Emily’s 2010 wedding to John Krasinski which was held at George Clooney’s house in Lake Como, Italy. They began dating shortly after.

In 2023, Tucci revealed that he once attempted to break up with Felicity out of fear that he would “feel old for the rest of my life” because of their age gap.

But, luckily for the pair, the breakup didn’t stick and they went on to tie the knot in 2012.

The couple shares two children together: son Matteo, whom they welcomed in 2015, and daughter Emilia, who was born in 2018. Tucci is also dad to three children from his previous marriage: twins Isabel and Nicolo, 26, and daughter Camilla, 24.
