Prime Video Asks ‘Summer I Turned Pretty’ Fans For “Privacy” Amid Filming: “Help Us Protect The Magic”

Amazon’s Prime Video is looking out for the cast and crew of The Summer I Turned Pretty as they go on location to film their movie.

The streamer issued a statement on social media asking for privacy and to “protect the magic.”

“We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” read the statement on Instagram.

The statement continued, “We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”

Starring Lola Tung, Christopher Barney, and Gavin Casalegno, The Summer I Turned Pretty recently began filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, and will wrap up the series.

The feature film is directed by Jenny Han, who is co-writing the script alongside Sarah Kuckserka.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said at the time of the announcement. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

Season Three was helmed by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, with both also serving as executive producers alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip. The series is co-produced in partnership by Amazon, MGM Studios, and wiip.
