Sabrina Carpenter wraps herself in film on Met Gala 2026 red carpet

Sabrina Carpenter is Met’s best friend.

The “Manchild” singer made a statement at the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, choosing a custom Dior look made entirely of film.

This year, she catered to the “Costume Art” theme and the night’s dress code, “Fashion is Art,” by wrapping herself in a high-neck halter gown draped with film strips showing scenes from the 1954 film “Sabrina,” starring Audrey Hepburn.

The garb was finished with a sparkling tulle train and thigh-high slit. She accessorized the look with a jeweled headpiece and sky-high Louboutin heels.

Carpenter, 26, has attended four Met Galas in the past but tonight’s is extra special as she’s serving on the host committee alongside Zoë Kravitz, Doja Cat, Teyana Taylor and more. Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams are the night’s co-hosts with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez as sponsors.

Though she skipped 2023, the singer has been on the Met Gala red carpet every other year since 2022.

Last year, in celebration of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” she looked to design house Louis Vuitton for a bodysuit and tuxedo jacket with an elaborate tail, forgoing pants completely.

In 2024, she leaned into her princess era, stepping out at the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” event wearing a black bustier gown with oversized Cinderella-blue train designed by Oscar de la Renta — and coordinated with then-boyfriend Barry Keoghan.

Her most recent major red carpet was back in February at the Grammys, opting for a bohemian take on that timeless Tinseltown vibe in a blush pink gown from Valentino.

And she slayed the fashion game while headlining Coachella last month, wearing a parade of custom Dior pieces on stage.
