Caitlyn Jenner said in a recent interview that she wrote a letter to Donald Trump after she was unable to correct her passport to list her gender as female.
Following a Trump executive order he signed on Jan. 20, 2025, his first day back in office, the State Department only issues a passport “with an M or F sex marker that matches the customer’s biological sex at birth.”
“This is a safety factor,” Jenner told Tomi Lahren on a recent edition of her Tomi Lahren is Fearless podcast.
“I can’t travel internationally anymore,” Jenner said.
Jenner is a longtime supporter of the president, even as his administration has implemented a host of policies that have drawn outcry and legal challenges from transgender rights groups.
Jenner said that after she recently had her passport renewed, and it recently came back as listing her gender as “M,” she filled out forms, thinking a mistake was made. She said that she sent a hard copy of her birth certificate, which listed her gender as female, but the passport still came back as “M.”
“They didn’t change it at all.”
“So it really creates a big problem, and I’m trying to figure out at this point what to do,” Jenner added. “I don’t blame President Trump. I love him, but for a lot of people, this is a huge issue.”
She said that she wrote a letter to Trump while she was visiting Mar-A-Lago two months ago. He wasn’t there at the time, but “the Secret Service guy said he could get it to him, put it on his desk and stuff.” She said that she has not yet heard from Trump.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Jenner said that she doesn’t blame Trump, but “I don’t think this was really thought out.”
“This is a big issue.”
