EXCLUSIVE: Hannah Marks has signed with CAA for representation.
Marks is an actress, writer, and director who wrote the original script for Netflix’s highly anticipated reboot of 13 Going on 30, which she will exec produce alongside Jennifer Garner. She also recently adapted the beloved children’s book Eloise for MRC and Netflix, with Ryan Reynolds starring and producing the feature via his Maximum Effort, and Amy Sherman-Palladino directing. That film just completed production, and she’s now at work on another for Illumination.
Last May, Marks helmed the film adaptation of John Green’s New York Times bestselling novel Turtles All the Way Down for HBO Max. Previously, she directed the Amazon film Don’t Make Me Go, starring John Cho and Mia Isaac, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival. Additional directorial film credits include the indie comedy Mark, Mary & Some Other People, which earned her the Best Screenplay Award at the 2021 Tribeca Festival.
Marks’ feature co-directorial debut After Everything, which she also co-wrote, premiered in competition at SXSW 2018, where she was nominated for the Game Changer Award. As an actress, she will next be seen opposite Naomi Watts in Neon’s The Housewife, which is slated for later this year. She previously appeared in Dinner in America, which first premiered at Sundance in 2020, and Kris Rey’s comedy I Used to Go Here, which premiered at SXSW in 2020 and was released later that year. Other notable acting credits include Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, Daniel Isn’t Real, and Southbound.
Marks continues to be represented by Circle M+P and Shelter PR.
