Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may have VASTLY different feelings on their daughter Apple’s future…
On Tuesday, an insider spoke to RadarOnline about a future in the entertainment industry Apple Martin has her sights set on — and how differently her parents feel about it:
“Chris worries about what the entertainment industry does to people. The chances she will listen to him are less than zero. She’s very headstrong and knows what she wants. She has a vision for stardom that’s very all-encompassing — modeling, music, movies. She’s ready to go all the way in.”

As we’ve previously covered, the 21-year-old has already dipped her toe in the singing world with up-and-coming band Jade Street. And though fans were mixed on her actual level of talent, it sounds like Apple is hungry to continue climbing her way into the spotlight. And her Oscar-winning momma reportedly supports her wholeheartedly:
“Apple is absolutely stunning. She’s got a great voice and a ton of confidence. It’s hard to see how she could fail — especially with Gwyneth behind her.”
But the potential for success or failure isn’t what concerns Apple’s Coldplay frontman father — it’s the darkness that can come with fame:
“Not that failure or success is what worries Chris. It’s everything that comes along with stardom — all the pressure and excess. It can take people down a very bad path. He’s seen it up close many times over, and he can’t help but want to protect his little girl from that risk.”
That doesn’t sound irrational! Chris, like Gwyneth, has been in the business for a LONG time and surely just wants to look out for his daughter. We mean, we’ve all seen the scary places fame can take people… But hopefully with protective parents, who largely shielded her and brother Moses, 19, from the spotlight as young children, Apple will prevail. It does sound like she has a good head on her shoulders, after all… And we’re sure Gwyneth would keep a VERY close eye on her!
According to the outlet, the nepo baby is set to graduate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, in May. Though she’s reportedly abandoned her previous ambitions of pursuing law school in favor of a more public-facing career:
“Chris would prefer that she take things slowly rather than rushing into a Hollywood career. But his words are falling on deaf ears.”
Oof… Gwyn, on the other hand, is ready to help make her daughter’s “dreams come true.”
“Gwyneth is very excited to help Apple make her dreams come true. Chris is going to have to get on board — or find himself left in the dust.”
We hope this doesn’t make things too tricky for Gwyneth and Chris! The pair married in 2003 and announced their split 11 years later in 2014. The Marty Supreme actress remarried with Brad Falchuck in 2018, while the Yellow singer famously dated Dakota Johnson from 2017 to 2025.
