EXCLUSIVE: Emmy Award-nominated actress D’Arcy Carden will be honored at SeriesFest with the “Excellence in Acting Award” during its upcoming 12th installment, which runs from May 6 to 10.
Carden – who is next starring in Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend, premiering July 16– will be recognized at a celebration taking place on May 8.
“D’Arcy Carden exemplifies the spirit of storytelling that SeriesFest is built to champion, bringing authenticity, heart, and depth to every role she takes on,” said event co-founders Randi Kleiner and Kaily Smith.
Their joint statement continued, “From her performances in The Good Place, Broad City, Barry, and A League of Their Own to her support of independent television, including her role in Sunny Nights, which premiered last year at SeriesFest: Season 11, D’Arcy continues to elevate diverse voices and inspire the next generation of creators. We are thrilled to honor her with this year’s Excellence in Acting Award.”
Previously announced honorees include Cable TV Pioneer, Founder & Former Chairman of Starz Entertainment John J. Sie (Inaugural Visionary Award), The Testaments actress Amy Seimetz (Spotlight Performance Award), Bridgerton director Gia-Rayne B. Harris (Ambassador Award), and Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy production company Littleton Road Productions (Impact in Television Award).
The yearly event was created to champion and discover innovative projects in the TV industry. This year, the non-profit organization will host a wide array of programs, including scripted, unscripted, and late-night pilot competitions, exclusive screenings, series premieres, panels, and workshops.
