Queer history never dies, it is only born again.

Twenty years after the groundbreaking premiere of Noah’s Arc, the crew is back for Noah’s Arc: The Movie — the first new chapter in the beloved franchise since the 2020 reunion special Noah’s Arc: The ‘Rona Chronicles.

A lot has changed in the two decades since audiences first met the core four of Noah’s Arc – so titled after Noah (Darryl Stephens) and his A.R.C. – Alex (Rodney Chester), Ricky (Christian Vincent), and Chance (Doug Spearman) – four queer Black best friends living and looking for their Mr. Rights (including Jensen Atwood and Wilson Cruz) in Los Angeles.

In the trailer for Noah’s Arc: The Movie, which Entertainment Weekly can exclusively reveal below, the guys have traded hookup culture and other youthful pursuits for playful banter about “daddies” and, in fact, actual fatherhood.

“One of the things that scared me most about being gay was missing out on being a dad,” Atwood’s Wade says in the trailer’s opening seconds. Re-establishing the series’ trademark trade-off between heartfelt pathos and irreverent humor, Wade’s partner and series anchor Noah replies, “Well, you’ll always be my daddy.”

After the show — Logo’s first scripted series — ended in 2006 with a cliffhanger, 2008’s Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom showed Noah and Wade finally tie the knot in an intimate ceremony held on Martha’s Vineyard. Now, the happy couple is still going strong – strong enough to grow their family.

But Noah and Wade have their work cut out for them as they prepare to welcome twins, while Noah is offered a dream job just as he’s about to take on the role of stay-at-home parent.

“Hey Siri, how do I stop a baby crying!” Noah cries out in panic in one scene previewed in the trailer.

Others tease exciting new additions to the Noah’s Arc family, including nanny candidate Jasmine Guy (“What will you do when the babies wake up at 2 o’clock in the morning?” she asks Noah, who replies, “Make my way to the top of the stairs and scream for the governess!”)

“Bringing Noah’s Arc back feels like a family reunion – and trust me, we’ve got plenty of stories left to tell,” original series creator Patrik-Ian Polk, who returned to executive produce, direct, and write Noah’s Arc: The Movie, tells EW in a statement. “Through all these years, the fans have never stopped asking for more. And Noah’s Arc: The Movie picks up right where we left off – but with more depth, more drama and a whole lot of heart.”

Polk continues, “I know our diehard fans will be delighted, but newcomers are invited to the party as well. You don’t have to be familiar with the series to get into this new installment- it works as a standalone film. Creating this project was a labor of love, a celebration of how far we’ve come and where these beloved characters are headed next.”
