Ryan Murphy Teases Sarah Paulson’s ‘AHS’ Return: “Cooking Up Something Cool”

With American Horror Story approaching lucky Season 13, Ryan Murphy is bringing one of his OG muses back to the FX anthology series.

The Golden Globe winner recently teased that frequent collaborator Sarah Paulson will make her return in some capacity to the horror show, after a fan asked if the 13th installment is still expected in 2025.

“Sarah Paulson and I are cooking up something cool!” wrote Murphy in the comments section of an Instagram post featuring first-look images from American Love Story.

In October, Paulson teased a “big chance that I will return” to AHS, raving on Good Morning America, “I’ve got everything crossed. I would like to do it more than anything. It’s my home. It’s where I started. … If I could be reunited with Evan Peters and Ryan Murphy, you can pretty much tell me what time I will be there, and I will be there.”

After first playing celebrity medium Billie Dean Howard in the 2011 debut season, dubbed Murder House, Paulson has returned almost every season to play another role, including Lana Winters in AHS: Asylum, Cordelia Goode in AHS: Coven and Apocalypse, and conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler in AHS: Freak Show, just to name a few.

Paulson’s last appearance in the AHS universe came with Season 10’s Double Feature, playing Tuberculosis Karen in the first half, before portraying Mamie Eisenhower for the remainder.

Although the Golden Globe-winning actress has been absent from the show for the past couple of seasons, she recently reunited with Murphy to star in his upcoming Hulu legal drama All’s Fair, alongside Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor and Glenn Close.

Kelly Rowland is remembering Ananda Lewis.

The Destiny’s Child member shared a moving tribute to the MTV VJ on her X account alongside a portrait of Lewis, who died of breast cancer on June 11 at age 52.

“I have the most amazing Memories of Ananda Lewis! Interviews, yeah! But by far is us singing Together at a SADE concert, at THE TOP of Our lungs! We both left hoarse, but did not care!” Rowland, 44, began.

“Her spirit, SOUL, her …..she was just an ALL Around cool, beautiful, FLY woman! I am at a loss for words! BUT SENDING her LOVED ONES, my Love And prayers!”

Lewis’ death was announced by her sister Lakshmi in a Facebook post after living with stage IV breast cancer. “She’s free, and in His heavenly arms ,” she captioned a picture of the music personality. “Lord, rest her soul.”

Lewis became well-known in the late 1990s when she was a VJ on Total Request Live and Hot Zone for MTV. She left MTV to host her own talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show, in 2001, which lasted for one season.

Later in her career, she hosted on the Entertainment Tonight spinoff The Insider, A&E’s America’s Top Dog and TLC’s While You Were Out, along with appearing on Celebrity Mole: Yucatán. Lewis was also a contractor and a carpenter.

Throughout her tenure in the media, Lewis interviewed Brandy, *NSYNC and Britney Spears among other major stars.

In 2020, Lewis revealed in an Instagram post that she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer, mentioning that she was not getting mammograms regularly due to a fear of radiation.

In October 2024, she took part in a roundtable discussion with CNN anchor Sara Sidner and CNN’s Stephanie Elam, the latter of whom had been her friend since college. During their discussion, she shared that she went against medical advice and did not undergo a double mastectomy, opting for a more holistic healing approach.

“My plan at first was to get out excessive toxins in my body. I felt like my body is intelligent, I know that to be true. Our bodies are brilliantly made,” Lewis said at the time.

“I decided to keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way,” she added. “Looking back on that, I go, ‘You know what? Maybe I should have.’ “
