EXCLUSIVE: Gregg Moscot, who was most recently chief operating officer at Sony Pictures Television’s unscripted label B17, which produces series including Fox’s Extraction, is launching a global production services business.
Moscot, who has also worked for Discovery, ITV and The Traitors producer Studio Lambert, is launching Moscot Global Production Services (MGPS) after leaving B17 earlier this month.
Based in LA, Moscot Global is a full-service physical production and post-production services operation, created to help U.S. producers, production companies, networks, streaming platforms, creators and brands navigate the ever-changing world of production services both in the U.S. and internationally.
The move comes as the number of U.S. unscripted series shot internationally, particularly in countries such as Ireland, where Fox makes a lot of its shows, is increasingly rapidly. It also follows a period of layoffs for many production companies, scaling back in-house production support.
It will provide production services in the U.S. as well as producers looking to film and post overseas. The business is launching with international production partners across Canada, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, Australia, Thailand and Central Europe and will also help producers deal with tax incentives.
Moscot said, “Moscot Global was built to offer solutions to significant challenges that U.S. entertainment companies, large and small, are all facing. As U.S. companies shed in-house physical production divisions, we step in to fill that gap. I’ve also designed MGPS to address inherent obstacles with overseas production by streamlining the international process in the most sought-after territories through top-notch production service partners who understand American standards and sensibilities. Our goal is to meet each client and project where they are, helping them achieve their ultimate creative vision with ease and efficiency, whether it’s in the U.S. or around the world.”
